Belleville
Belleville is a township that lies on the eastern edge of Essex County in New Jersey. The word is French and means "beautiful town." Essex County is in the northern part of the state. Belleville has a population of 35,926, according to the 2010 United States Census. The total area is almost 3.4 square miles and is bordered on one side by the Second River that runs through Branch Brook Park. The township refers to itself as the Cherry Blossom Capital of America.
Newark is just four miles away across the Second River while Manhattan is only ten miles to the east. East Orange is three miles from Belleville.
