Bloomfield

Bloomfield is a township that lies on the northeastern edge of Essex County in New Jersey. According to the 2010 United States Census, it has a population of 47,315. Brookdale is a census-designated place that is located within Bloomfield. Silver Lake is similarly designated, except that the population is split between Bloomfield and Belleville. The township covers an area of just over five miles, which is much smaller than the early size of almost 20 square miles when it was incorporated.
